Glorious Gardening!

Glorious Gardening!

This term taking advantage of the fabulous weather and perfect growing conditions, we are beginning to plant our school vegetable patch.    This is always an exciting time of year where we can see the process from seed to plant to vegetable!

School Gardens have been proven to help to extend the classroom beyond traditional settings by expanding it outside.  This reflects our Montessori approach where learning occurs naturally with child-centred activities promoting independence.   Gardening provides students with hands-on learning opportunities, increasing environmental awareness and giving  experience in problem-solving.

Therefore in our school vegetable patch children are learning to grow more than just plants, through cross -curricular links they are also growing themselves!
