Easter Bonnet Parade

Easter Bonnet Parade

We celebrated our first of many Easter Bonnet Parade in our school in the amazing sunshine surrounded by enthusiastic students and teachers.

This is a typical British Easter tradition where the word «bonnet» is used rather than «hat».  It refers to the type of headgear that was popular in the late 1800s which is when this tradition originated from.

Our children, helped by their families, created original Easter Bonnets representing their take on Easter.  Each bonnet was full of colour and fantasy, which then came alive when they were paraded in our garden for all of primary to enjoy!  It was a particularly memorable day for all, with lots of fun, creativity and laughter all around!
